Unitech,India's real estate firm launches their wireless service Uninor in Kerala and six other telecom circles.Norviegion brand Telenor,which is the sixth largest mobile company in the world,is a partner in this venture.Company announced tariff rates 29 PS  per minute for all local calls and 49 PS for STD calls .More plans are available for consumers.

Hindustan unilever ltd(HUL),the market leader in soap industry,which is suffering by the loss of market shares to Godrej, Wipro and ITC,now relaunching various brands.Lifebuoy, Liril, Hamam, Rexona, Breeze and Lux were given new packaging and fragrance.Company was able to improve it's share in the soap market to 44.7 percent from 44.5 percent during August to September period.

Emami got approval for merger with Zandu ops

FMCG major Emami got the Kolkata High Court's approval for merging Mumbai-based Zandu Pharmaceuticals with it.Emami, had acquired Zandu Pharmaceuticals last year for Rs 700 cr.The FMCG business of Zandu will be merged into Emami Ltd and the realty undertaking of Emami and Zandu's non-core business,will be merged into Emami Infrastructure Ltd.

Sebi's ban on inter-client transfer of funds

SEBI announced that brokers will not be allowed to use funds from one client's account to buy securities or settle transactions of another client.In a circular SEBI said-"There shall be no inter-client adjustments for the purpose of settlement of the 'running account'.But Institutional clients can continue existing practice.SEBI further said settlement of funds or securities shall be done within 24 hours of the payout.It also said client may specifically authorize the stock broker to maintain a running account, provided authorization is renewed at least once a year

Dubai crisis will not affect banks:RBI

Reserve Bank of India said that domestic banks don't have much exposure to the debt-ridden Dubai World.So their balance sheets will not be affected by the crisis.Rating agency Moody's also of the view that asian banks have relatively small exposure to Dubai and Dubai world companies and hence this is not a matter of concern.

Impact of Dubai world on Indian ecconomy is limited:CARE

Credit Analysis and Research Limited (CARE) said that the risk of a multi-billion-dollar debt by Dubai World will have limited impact on the Indian economy."The overall contribution of the region in foreign investment flow is small and no significant impact on portfolio investments can be discerned. Overall the impact on India is not expected to be significant in the long-term," a report from CARE, said.

Govt to raise RS 14,000 cr via stake sale in NTPC and other 2 power PSUs

The Government of India declared that it plans to raise Rs 14,000 cr through selling stake in NTPC,SJVNL and REC.Public offers of which will be available on the markets from January to March 2010.

 WOCKHARDT: Pharmaceutical firm Wockhardt and Development Bank of
Singapore Ltd have agreed on an out-of-court settlement of a dispute over loan
amounting to 440 mln rupees. The pharmaceutical major has a debt of over 37
bln rupees and has hived off some of its non-core business to pay off debt.

    SBI EXPANSION: State Bank of India will open 23 new branches overseas in
the next four months. This will take the total number of branches of the bank
in foreign countries to 160 by March, from 137 at present. The bank derives
around 12% of its total revenue from overseas business
.
    OIL FIND: The Oil and Natural Gas Corp has found new oil reserve in
Gujarat which could increase the company's total onshore oil production by
about 20%. The new reserve in Mehsana is likely to produce about 20,000
barrels of oil per day.

    TATA REJECTS: Tata Group has rejected a 10 mln pound sterling (767 mln
rupees) loan offered by the UK government to develop electric cars at the
group's European technical centre. The loan was part of automotive assistance
plan announced last month by the UK government. 



    AUTO : Carmakers are gearing up for a two-phase price hike after
almost a year on the backdrop of rising input costs and the need to switch to
stricter emission norms. Prices of popular cars, such as Mahindra Scorpio,

Nifty may open down around 4931 today, due to selling in
Asian equities due to fears of a debt default after Dubai sought more time to
meet its financial obligations. Asian shares were down today, tracking the fall in Europe markets,coupled with the yen strengthening to a 14-year high against the dollar.
    European indices saw the biggest one-day fall in seven months on worries
over Dubai's debt.
